Lawrence
was a Radio-Gunner 3rd Class in the U.S Navy's, VC-33 squadron
of Grumman "Avenger" TBM's in the South Pacific Oct.
1943 - April 1946. Nicknamed the "Flying Bath Tub"
these fighter-bomber aircraft were catapulted off "Baby
Flat Top" carriers and from airfields on Guam, Okinawa,
Philippine Islands and Occupied Japan.
