Norm's 4 year tour in the Air Force took him to the Azores, Europe
and North Africa. After Basic training at Sampson AFB. N.Y. he
received further training as a Weatherman at Chanute AFB, in
Illinois. While at Chanute he purchased a Argus C-3 camera. In
retrospect, Norm with this camera captured many images of aircraft
that became obsolete as changes in Aerospace Defense needs and
technological designs rapidly shifted during the mid 1950's.
