David M. Wood *** U.S. Navy *** Persian Gulf 1996-1998

After attending Great Lakes Naval Training Center in Michigan, Dave became a Launch and Recovery Airman (ABEAN) in Navy Aviation. In March of 1998, the carrier U.S.S. George Washington (CVN-73) loaded with F-14 "Tom Cats and F-18 "Hornets" was deployed to the Mediterranean Ocean and Persian Gulf to enforce sanctions and airspace restrictions imposed by the United Nations against Saddam Hussein and Iraq.
