served as a Tech Sargent with the U.S. Army in the 363th Anti-Aircraft
Ordnance. He entered the service in September 1943 and served
in the Pacific on Okinawa from April 1945 to March 1946. He performed
repair and maintenance to anything with a engine. Bill has a
knack to improvise and created a washing machine from a jeep
and 55 gallon drum. Another achievement Bill led was the construction
of a 10 Bay, 32' x 120' garage by welding discarded 8" x
24"metal ammunition cylinders into a framework and covering
with tarps, all in 36 hours!
