Christy Butler ** Vietnam, DaNang ***"Gunfighter Village"** 1971-1972. Located in the southeast corner of DaNang Air Force Base was the living quarters known as "Gun Fighter Village." This had a diverse population which within itself was an unique society integrated with "lifers", 1rst termers, TDY's, all races, all ages, and all male. I do not have statistics for this crammed barracks area, but estimate the population to have been approaching 1,500 plus. Located next to the flight line, constant noise, rocket attacks and snipers, lack of privacy, and living in Vietnam did not create many happy campers.
